Chilvers Page, Commercial Property Agents in reading, acting on behalf of Legal & General Properties have sold the freehold of town centre shops and premises adjoining Marks & Spencer for development.
Chilvers Page were asked to advise Legal & General Properties regarding the marketing of the premises and recommended that the upper floors were converted to residential. A consent was granted for six flats on the upper floors and after national
advertising and an informal tender the property was sold to a developer for close to the asking price of £795,000.
Chilvers Page were retained to let the new retail space and achieved a letting to Fat Face, the leisure clothing company, at an initial rental £60,000 per annum on a new 15 year lease. The six flats have been sold on 99 year leases.
